Boone Today

Today, Boone supports a total enrollment of about 3200 students and it is certainly not the campus we knew back in '68...

First, have a look at this current aerial view of the campus. Take a couple of moments to orient yourself and you'll spot a few familiar buildings - the Auditorium, the 100 Bldg and the Gym, but that's about it. Notice the 200 Bldg and 300 Bldg have been enlarged and now abut one another. There is a new Administration Bldg fronting Kaley immediately north of the 200/300 Bldg, and new Science and Math buildings immediately south of the 100 Bldg and north of the baseball field respectively. A new Media Center is in the place of the "new library" of our day. Pan around the map and you'll see new tennis courts and more buildings and Wadeview Park's swimming pool, also used by the swim team, a little to the south and west. Also notice that the old Blankner Elementary is now a parking lot, practice fields, and a softball field. Pan more to the south and you'll see the new Blankner K-8 complex at the corner of Michigan and Mills. It goes on and on...
